I saw the original four do a reunion show about ten years ago as part of a mere five date mini-tour. They were great but I've recently seen Sammy interviewed and he said the old animosities reared themselves very quickly. Apparently Montrose doesn't hold lead singers in very high regard. Not smart given that he was tagging along on Sammy's coat tails at the time.
on the hagar album MARCHING TO MARS there is also a montrose reunion on 1 tune

I saw Montrose warmup for the Who at Madison Square Garden in 1974. Pretty good set, but couldn't hold a candle to what followed.
