It was good that Bert revived his career and standing in later years, allowing a lot more folks to appreciate him for the astounding and trail blazing musician that he was.

I heard this on the radio coming into work today. When i forst hard him many years ago I was blown away and he has been one of my all time favorites ever since. I was very happy to have seen him open for Neil young last year. A million thanks for the great music and inspiration Bert. God bless you...
I had the pleasure of interviewing him just after his last album was released, one of the gentlest musicians I've ever met, it was quite humbling to meet him.
I've mentioned this several times here already but it still doesn't seem to be common knowledge. Keith played a bit of Bert's 'Needle of Death" in the film "Charlie is my Darling" it's in the backstage bit at the beginning of the film. He nails the verse but fakes the chorus, they then go on to sing "Salty Dog" None of the major sites or books acknowledge the song, calling it simply "unknown folk song". Not so, it's definitely Bert's,
