In London and need advice on what Stones-related stuff to see

I'm in London for a couple of days and want to see Stones-related sites. Should I visit Dartford? Is Sticky Fingers restaurant still open? Any suggestions would be most welcome.

Thanks,
Drew

This is GREAT, thank you so much SwayStones!!

By the way, I'm puzzled that I don't see people recommending a visit to Dartford.

I do rememember The Station Hotel from a handful of visits in the mid 70's.It was then called The Bull 'n Bush pub.A typical London pub of the day and I can remember it being very long and narrow with plenty of seats and tables.I think there was a function room at the back which probably was The Crawdaddy in the 60's.Also vaguely remember a plaque either on the outside wall or inside the pub, stating The Stones had played there. To be honest,at the time I only vaguely knew of The Stones connection.Been a few differant bars etc. since, but still there opposite Richmond Station which hasn't changed on the outside since those days.Up on Richmond Hill near The Star and Garter Home is The Wick where Ronnie once lived and Pete Townsend lives there now.Mick and Jerrys marital home is nearby. smiling smiley

102 Edith Grove

Not much too look at, but it's the place where Mick, Keith, Brian & "Mr. Jimmy" lived for a while when they were first starting out.
Phelge's book Nankering With The Rolling Stones gives a better appreciation for the place.

If you're in Richmond or Twickenham tomorrow evening, the Rollin' Stoned are playing at the Eel Pie Club:

Cheyne Walk, where Mick and Keith both had houses in the late 60s, Courtfield Rd where Keith, Brian and Anita lived, Powis Square, where Performance was set, Kings Road, to get a feel for late 60s London.....

The Station Hotel

It's now a "trendy" wine bar called "One Kew Road"

If you are into collecting you are always welcome to stop by my place. A few here have done so and enjoyed it (or so they say). I am very close to the Famous Ealing Jazz Club too and Ealing Art College (where Ronnie studied).

You might enjoy trying to get inside Royal Albert Hall, scene of the Stones' first major UK concert and where much of "Got Live If You Want It" was filmed.

One of the most underestimated treasures of London is the Albert Memorial, just across the road from the Albert Hall.It is just stunning when you are right up close to it and walk all the way round. thumbs up
