For Rolling Stones fans I'd recommend Running Out Of Luck & Digital Dreams, & for Beatles fans I'd recommend Caveman & Give My Regards To Broad Street.

However if you're not fans then you'll probably hate those movies...

The U.S. vs. John Lennon, which does an excellent job of putting Lennon's music in context of the times. Essential, especially for younger fans.

I really like Running Out Of Luck, & Digital Dreams isn't too bad. I'm not such a big Beatles fan though Broad Street is alright (Caveman is unwatchable).

The Beatles- Must get Anthology. The mother of all rock documentaries. Amazing!
The Stones-Gimme Shelter. AMAZING!
The Stones Tamni is fantastic
The Beatles Washington First US Tour, A Hard Days Night, the two Lennon ones that were mentioned above are great! Especially The US vs Lennon.
Stones- Rock and Roll Circus. Great!
Stones at the Park good.
Ladies and Gentlemen....Fantastic! Some dodgy cameral work, dark, and too much Mick Jagger, but man, they are smoking on it. A must have.

Great Keith moments in Chuck Berry's Hail! Hail! Rock n Roll! that make it a must-see.

The Concert for Bangladesh with George and friends, and the heartwarming Concert for George featuring a lot of the same friends, which includes a couple of Beatles.

Charlie Is My Darling Lots of classic early footage... and in a surreal moment, Brian speaks!

The Stones - Ed Sullivan performances 64-69. Arguably, with the TAMI Show the greatest and best shot footage of the band in the 60s.

70s - Ladies And Gentleman. It doesn't get better than this.

90s - Double Door Chicago. Great close up footage and incredible song list at a club date.

The Beatles - Shea Stadium 65, Budokan 66 and a great compilation of all their singles plus more called Chronology.
