Odd piece of news I found on the web:

Francis Bean Cobain is all grown up now – at 18, she’s even putting on her own art exhibits – but considering that her mother is the walking trainwreck Courtney Love, Francis Bean could probably still use some guidance. So it’s a pretty good idea for her to stay in Paris with her “bohemian grandmother,” and a woman who has certainly been through a lot in her life, Marianne Faithfull.

Faithfull, now 63 years old, has had quite the life to this point. She’s recorded 21 albums, gone through battles with drug addiction in the 70s, and even dated Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. The Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” is said to be about her.

Francis Bean Cobain would do well to learn from Faithfull about how to make it through to the other side.

I think the name comes from Francis Farmer and the fact that Kurt saw the sonogram pic and said it looked like a bean. I read that somewhere.
