Name famous businesses that'll been around for as long as The Stones have and still have most of their founding members or sole founding member?

Jann Wenner..Rolling Stone 1967
Hugh Hefner..Playboy 1953

This reminds me of a FORBES article about movie producer Jerry Bruckheimer, where they said, (paraphrase) "In the supposedly flash-in-the-pan, faddish business like the movie business, Bruckheimer has had a longer and more successful run than many businessmen have had in other more `stable' industries."

The Stones have been a business only since 1989.

When it comes to longevity in business it looks like The Stones are in a very small elite group.

The deal with Jovan was 1981.

Aside from the obvious ridiculousness of this thread, wouldn't the Stones have technically started being a business in 1970 with the formation of Rolling Stones Records?

Colonial, the amount of years might be impressive but the actual operating part is almost nil compared to it. The so called "longevity" is only served by eons of not doing anything.

Their longevity doesn't mean anything until their kids replace them as band members.

Too bad colonial didn't choose obviousridiculousness as his screen name. I think someone should log on with that screen name and then post nothing but sheer foolishness. sheerfoolishness would be another good choice for a screen name considering some of what's been written here lately.

The Stones were formed in '62 so what does '70 '81 and '89 have to do with it..when it comes to their longevity?

They weren't in control of their "business" until 1970 at the earliest.

And the longevity? What longevity? Being a band in name for 3000 years is your idea of longevity?

and does that turn you on?

in actuality, when it comes to longevity in business, the stones are pretty much non-existent.
