I saw them last week in DC. Wind 'em up and they play the same 20 or so songs. The only variation is the extent of MacGowan's drunkenness. If they won't be recording anything new, it's time to end, or at least limit, the reunion tours. Hell, they're turning into the Pixies.

Great band in their day but the novelty wore thin a long time ago, and Magowan is long beyond parody.

novelty? hmmm....not sure i'd agree with that. countless bands are carrying on their tradition. not the stuff of novelties.

i've seen the band thrice in recent years and all three times have been among my fave concert experiences of all time. magowan clearly doesn't have the pipes he once had, but he didn't miss a single line at any of the perfs i attended...still a good front-man, in my book.
