No surprise here. Wonder how large the "massive offer" was that they turned down.

I've heard they are trying to get them to play Glastonbury in 2013. The festival will not be held in 2012, but if the Stones are touring in 2013 that could work with their schedule...and would be far hipper than playing at the London Olympics as many here have suggested.

Eavis has tried to get them every year and I'm sure 2013 will be no exception.

Its a shame they can't. The Who played a great set as did Macca.

NO to a tour, NO to Glastonbury ... boy they DO like their vacation time !! If you were a tad cynical it would be quite enough to make you think they're done with it all and don't give a monkey's anymore !!

The Rolling Stones hardly ever played at Festivals. The last I can recall was Isle of Wight and before that ... hm Knebworth? You may count Moncton and they did start the Festival in Frauenfeld Switzerland during BtB Tour. But there the stage had to be pulled down before the stage for the rest of the festival had to be errected.

Somewhat of a missed opportunity I think, to have chosen not to do Glastonbury this year, would have served a purpose - if only to provide something that you may as well term "a sign of life". But perhaps it's all part of the masterplan to wow us in 2012 and/or 2013 ... as someone earlier in this thread suggested ? Whatever ...

Nope, no Coachella, either, unless it's 2012. Coachella has been announced, and no Stones.

I know. 'Twas a bit or sarcasm on my part over recent absurd rumours on here that they were going to play it this year.

Although the Glastonbury Festival is scenic from views via Palladium broadcasts, concert really could afford better headliners. The ferris wheel, somewhat inoperable doesn't suffice.
