If they did that, they'd surely be caught between Iraq and a hard place...

I think they wanted to play Cairo as well as Tel Aviv and Dubai after the Europe leg of the "Bridges To Babylon" tour in 1998, but security concerns and logistical problems scuttled their plans. The closest they came was a (poorly attended) concert in Istanbul.

Liberation at last, after 30 years of increasing oppression by Mubarak, his clique and his pimp, the US plutocratic oligarchy.

Bad Stones concert: the dude next to you is drunk and won't shut up.

Bad revolution: the dudes next to you won't stop bashing your freakin' head in while politely trying to kill you.

"Another aim of the German occupiers was to dissolve the Dutch nation and make it part of a greater Germanic, or Aryan, one. The German officials, including those of the SS, Arthur Seyss-Inquart, and Adolf @#$%& himself regarded the Dutch as part of the Aryan Herrenvolk (master race)."

Of course short memories by some who owe their lives and country to the Americans and their allies liberated them and then saved their ass from the Japanese.

Inaccurate and irrelevant.

The Russians WON World War II. They faced the redoutable German army on their own soil for 4 years. They lost 20 MILLION people. Without their sacrifice the operation "Overlord" would not have been possible...
The US Army entered the Euro theater of ops mid-1943, and overall lost "only" 400 000 troops on both (Eastern and Western) fronts.

I know Spielberg drummed up the US involvement in WWII in "Private Ryan" as well as in "The Pacific" series but the real heroes of WWII speak Russian.
