Songs that worked great at movies' closing scenes/closing credits

I said on another thread that I thought Sid Vicious' My Way closing GOODFELLAS was a perfect match, as was the Beatles' Baby You're a Rich Man for THE SOCIAL NETWORK. (I'd love to see a movie about friendship closing with Waiting On a Friend...hasn't happened yet.)

Anyway, if any of you have similar favorites regarding songs that matched movies' endings well, name them below! (Maybe I'll be prompted to visit my local library and check them out.)

I know it was written for the movie but Neil Young's Philadelphia is incredibly powerful at the end of that film. Not a dry eye in the house. He deserved the award over Springsteen I think.

Springsteen's "The Wrestler" at the end of that movie is pretty good.

I've always thought that the use of Tangerine at the end of Almost Famous was perfectly done. Of course, I'm a little partial.

I haven't seen it recently, but I thought the Beach Boys "Feel Flows" is the last song in Almost Famous.

Always thought Time Waits For No One would make a great opening or closing song for a movie.

Gimme Shelter at the end of.... "Gimme Shelter". Always liked Rock Around The Clock in Blackboard Jungle.

My all-time favorite:
Wouldn't It Be Nice at the end of Shamppo...
In the last scene, Beatty's character is finally showing his vulnerability to the Julie Christie character, begging her not to leave...because she 's the only one he really loves...
But its too late and she leaves him crying.
And that song fits the meloncholy perfectly.
It also had a real-life resonance because of Beatty and Christie's own relationship...they seemed to be channeling some real emotions.

Speaking of the Beach Boys, don't forget "All Summer Long" at the end of American Graffiti.

Thru and thru closed a season of the sopranos - fantastic choice. I had hoped that the series finale would close with sleep tonight - which would have also been fantastic and not totally out of the question as the producers were stones fans

In the movie "Fallen" theres un evil spirit wich will possess u and so firth....there is a wicked seen where they sing "time is on my side" well the spirit keeps on singing it the entire movie....

Anyway the ending is superb, while they try to make sure that the spirit will die off and not possess anyone else they choose a lonely location with no people around and well.....lets say that the spirit still makes it while all the others actually die....and when you get it and see the cat that it has possessed...then comes the percussion intro....ahhh....ahhh, symphaty for the devil!!!

now thats a ending!

Shortly before he died, George Harrison had a Yahoo chat and took questions over the internet (he was promoting the reissue of All Things Must Pass), and my question actually got through. Figuring he would like the question because he's such a Dylan friend/fan I asked George, "What do you think about Bob Dylan getting nominated for an Oscar?" [For THINGS HAVE CHANGED] George replied, "I think he should win them all! The Oscar, the Grammy, the Tony!" So I actually communicated with George Harrison because of THINGS HAVE CHANGED.

Townes van Zandt's live version of Dead Flowers at the end of The Big Lobowski is brilliant.

Totally agree with Gimme Shelter in the same film. Great scenes.

Of course "The End" in Apocalypse Now.

I have to say I love the opening song and sequence for that TV show "Big Love" with the 3 women floating around, and that beautiful song. Who and what is that?

I just though of another great scene: in "American Beauty" they come in with Neil Young's song "Don't Let It Bring You Down". Great scene.
