Jungleland
New York City Serenade
Incident on 57th Street (ideally the live B-side version, but either is cool)
I Wish I Were Blind
This Hard Land (the BITUSA outtake version that was released on 'Tracks' in '98)

This song , had it been released, would be in the top 5 :

The Promise (unreleased version from 1977, not the re-recording from 1998)

It's too hard to pick only 5.

Jungleland
Backstreets
Racing in the street
Incident on 57th street
Point Blank
Thunder Road
Born to Run
Atlantic City
Long Walk home
Promised Land
The River
Hungry Heart
Lost in the Flood
Spirit in the night

I really can't choose only five and I am afraid that I must have forgotten to include some of his best songs here because the guy has almost no filler on his early albums. All songs are up to the highest possible standards.

Janey Don't You Lose Heart and RamRod live (from the reunion live album) come in very close to the top 5....

It kind of goes hand in hand with Jungleland. On it's own it doesn't work as well.

He must have put a superhuman effort into it. LOL It's really hard to pick just five songs when you are emotionally attached to half of his catalog.

Jungleland
Backstreets
The River
Racing in the Street
Thunder Road

Too many great songs to choose from.In my opinion, most of the songs from Born in The USA , as great as they are, are hardly among his best ones.

Christ this is really difficult. Ok, my top five for now...

Badlands
Thunder Road
Jungleland
The Promised Land
No Surrender

So hard to do this.

On a side note, have just bought a Sony blu-ray player, and picked up a copy of 'London Calling / Live in Hyde Park'. It is UNBELIEVABLE. I was at the show, so I knew how good it was, but in high definition, the picture is amazing, and the sound? Wow. All the instruments sound incredibly detailed and balanced. The performances are utterly brilliant, setlist to die for. So many memories came flooding back, like Johnny 99, when they re-do the ending with bruce and stevie's guitars. Just a wonderful show, and to see it in HD quality linked up to a good sound system, has been wonderful.
