As part of a bigger article on drugs in rock (irreverently titled The Rehab Album) Don Was is interviewed about EXILE in the WSJ at this link >>> [online.wsj.com]

Why would Keith be apologetic about his drug intake? Who are these dunt people that say such stupid shit as "he is largely unapologetic about his drug intake"?

Thanks for the link.

For last year's splashy reissue of the Stones' much-revered "Exile on Main St" from 1972, Mr. Was combed through 200 hours of unreleased recordings. ... He said some 40 songs left off the original still hold up.

I wish the splashy reissue had included a few more of those 40 songs.

The article is very biased against drugs use. How interesting was Clapton as an artist after he "kicked alcohol and heroin", as compared to before?! WSJ probably has too little expertise to tell.

Saying drugs and alcohol don't add to the creative process is like saying smoking isn't cool. It is cool, but it will cause you major problems eventually, and then you won't look so cool.

Same with art and getting high. It works at first, but eventually does more harm than good.
