This is a necessary OT thread, and since the Stones did the SB they are linked to american football forever and ever. And aren't we rooting for the SB stage?

Go Chargers (please win one already)

I don't think bv would have an issue with an American football thread. I mean, the Stones played at a Super Bowl.

For college, I'm a Vols fan. For pro I like the Redskins. Both teams haven't looked too well these last few years but hope springs eternal.

Definitely watching tonight's Saints/Vikings opener. smileys with beer

Greetings from the Jersey Shore.

We had a World Cup post and no one seemed to care and why would they? Whats the big deal with a American Football thread?

I root mainly for the Patriots in the NFL and the Gators in NCAA ball.

I don't have great feelings for either this season. I see it as a transitional year for the Gators in an always TOUGH conference. The Pats will have to score 28 points a game to succeed. Thankfully, they should have the talent on that side of the ball to do so. I worry that Welker is being rushed back, though.

Overrated or not. He's now the highest paid player in NFL history.

I enjoyed these last night with my French bread muff, cold beer and the Saints making Brett Favre look nervous.

colonial, may I ask what you like about it? I doubt the Stones have any real interest in it, maybe their SB performance is their only real connection.

The Stones have no interest in the USA's NFL.

But if they did and they had any wits and smarts about them, they'd root for the Whot Dat Nation, the New Orleans Saints.

If they didn't they'd be total idiots.

Actually, even though they didn't score 45 points or whatever, it was an intense game. I like nail biters like that one. They scored when they had to and did what they needed to win.

Saints fans seem to now have expectations and some found the game to be boring. It wasn't boring by any means. The tight scoring games are far more intense compared to the blow outs, which are just fun.

Yeah Skip, the Saints are coming to town next Monday. Nice of the NFL to give them an extra day off after they already had 2 extra days. But if the Forty Niners don't play a lot better than they did on sunday,it could get real ugly.
