Vinyl has renewed my appreciation for Stones

Just got a new system after being without a turntable for 15 years. Put on ER first, and I actually listed to the whole thing without skipping over Indian Girl, which was always so easy to do on CD, and I actually enjoyed it. Same goes for Suck on the Jugular from VL, which I always hated (the song, that is), but damn, that album is textured nicely. I'd be pleased as punch if the Stones could pull one off like in '94 one more time.

Looking forward to my '64-'69 boxed set.

Vinyl is something I stuck to all these years and I don't regret it.

I'm happy for you. I'm young enough that vinyl was always an obscure product for me, but I've always gone out of my way to get it when it was available. I have the original Steel Wheels, Voodoo Lounge, and Bridges to Babylon lps. Everything is better on vinyl. But not better enough to make me not skip 'Indian Girl'.

I can only say the exact same as you Sipuncula. Or, it has certainly revived my interrest in the early years, shameful really but I´ve always been a seventies boy. Now I´m digging in everything about the sixties BJ era like there is no tomorrow. 2011 looks like a great year for vinyl fans....

Great to read!!

Indeed the vinyl Audio superiority is something everybody should remember!
I know mp3 is much easier to "grab and go".
But for the love of music One should go back to black!
Cheers!

So you like vinyl because it is inconvenient?

I haven't played any vinyl anymore since somewhere in the nineties because I think that vinyl is an inferior medium. I don't believe in it anymore. The only sonical reason to listen to vinyl for me would be a better source mix or master, but that has nothing to do with the medium.

I think my favourite vinyl album I have is Sucking In The Seventies. There was something about the size of those balls and the gigantic tongue with the song list on it that was just way too funny.

And it's a great comp to boot.

I think the sound of viny is superior to nowadays medium..I kind of feel pity for young people (and a couple of oldies) listens to Ipod and things...very poor sounding medium even with earphones...

I sold all my vinyl in the early 1980s to replace it with CDs. Then about 5 years ago I realised my mistake and got rid of all my CDs and bought the vinyl again.
