Why would anyone whose not really interested in The Stones want to go a Rolling Stones concert..Just so they can say they've been to a Stones concert..?
And also why would anyone who has already been to lots of Stone concerts who maybe 3 concerts short of 100 for an example want to go to another 3 just so they can say they've been to 100 Stones concerts.I go to see The Rolling Stones..well because im a fan and I want to see them like most other people..and for those reasons only...

Some fans go to see them, some don't. And some "not-fans" go to see them and some don't. That's it, there are no complicated reasons and I don't think that the people that go or don't go give it too much thought, it's just a rock concert.

Yes. Where have you been for the last few years? The Stones are hardly unique in having a percentage of their audience being 'box tickers' who are there to see a 'legend'.

And a large amount of tickets at Stones concerts are distributed via corporate means, and therefore often end up in the hands of people who are there primarily due to who they work for or who they know rather than because they are big fans of the bands music.

I'm genuinely surprised that you seem totally unaware of this phenomenon.

hahahha..I've experienced that! One friend of mine who most definetely is NOT a Stones fan, got a free ticket from his company, and, of course, in the middle of Keith section, phoned me (knowing my 'brief' Stones interest) and said "Guess where I am?"...

Frank was talking about the post-89 Stones (and ... nah, never mind! :E )

in Poland to the Stones concert in 2007 went almost whole country, mostly just to be cool and take photos from their mobiles, but after all their opinions were very high and everybody loved the show. x)

Zappa was asked about the difference between a Stones concert and a Zappa concert.

Zappa: "If you visit a Stones concert, you'll probably get a blow job.
