Are you sure you want to convert Flac files?
Media Monkey plays them and is able to burn them to CD.

if you still want to convert them, highlight the tracks then go to:
Tools, Convert Audio Format or use the shortcut Shift+Control+C and choose the format you want.
I believe it only works in the Gold Edition, not the free version.
correction, it works in both versions. thanks marchbaby.

I have the free version, and able to convert flacs

After you open Mediamonkey, the next step is go to
1. File
2.Open URL or File
3. Browse (locate the FLACs on your computer)
4. Highlight all of them and then "Open"

Songs will then go into media monkey - right screen of mediamonkey window

Next highlight them all
go to
1. Tools
2. Convert audio format

and from here you can convert to whatever type you need (wav, mp3, etc)

hope this helps you. i was in your shoes at the beginning of July, I didn't know what to do, how to download a torrent etc but there are some good folks on here to help you out.

do burn directly with flacs?
it was mentioned on here to convert to wav's.

ok don't cringe, I convert to mp3's since I don't burn cd's and just
want them on my mp3 player.

i have no idea what lossless means, if the torrent
is rated as good/excellent, the sound is pretty good for me as mp3s.

The way it was explained to me is mp3 is a compressed format and once you compress the music files you can NEVER restore them. As I understood "lossless" formats (like wav and flac) are giving you ALL the original information provided for the music. Therefore it doenst lose anything or is "lossless".
I've always uses foobar2000 to convert and its real easy (even for me!) I used to use burning software that had to convert flac to wav to burn but now I use one that burns the flac files direct. Also mp3s are usually sampled in 128,192,256 and 320kps but can be variable. I also read where anything above 250 that the human ear couldnt detect the difference anyway but I go ahead and use flac to be sure. I WON"T deprive myself of something tho if its only available in mp3!! Like I said I dont know if all this rambling is right or not but just passing on what I was told!!

Yes, you can burn flac files to audio CDs directly.
no need to convert them fist.

+1 what scotkeef said.

Burning Flac directly to CD? Only with a certain version of nero I learned! I recommend FLAC converter. Simply google FLAC converter and it's a nice little tool that converts them fast and easy...even for a woman! spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

i don't think you have to convert anything to burn flac to cd-r with media monkey. I use it all the time for that, because nero wouldn't do it. someone here said download media monkey to burn flac to cd-r, so I did, and it works. just drag and drop the flac files in and burn it.

yeah,
but then its too late to hear the songs. you would not know if the quality is any good, in the way you want to keep it.
Maybe then, you got the cd, and you can throw it away because the soundquality is crap.
