The music of the Rolling Stones has been known to induce dancing, rhythmic fist-pumping and occasional off-key singing.
But Victoria police saw a first on Friday when a domestic dispute broke out in Esquimalt because of the song Start Me Up.
Officers responded to neighbours' complaints that a man and a woman in a home on Craigflower Road were embroiled in a heated argument early Friday, according to deputy police chief John Ducker, writing on the VicPD Operations Blog.
The couple had been drinking and one of them grew angry when Start Me Up came on.
No charges were laid.
