OT: It's going to be a hot summer !

Already a hot one where I live!

Heat advisories every day for the past couple of weeks, and a street buckled up from the heat.
And it's only the first day of summer!

It was 103 degrees Fahrenheit (39 centigrade) and humid here in DC for two days last week, but we were down to 90 or so (32 or thereabouts) by the weekend. We'll deal with this sort of malarky for another two months, as we do every summer. Stay indoors, stay hydrated, watch plenty of baseball (with the sound down, the closed captions on, and the stereo turned up loud).

35 degrees celsius might seem like a lot (what, 93F?) but in the sun in Louisiana (compared to the shade, where all temperatures are recorded/measured) it's anywhere from 120F to 160F on a daily basis for almost 6 months.

The people whining and complaining in NYC - and yes it's hot in the city - are spoiled and have no idea what they're complaining about.

But then again, they do live where it's generally cold/cool.

Crybabies.

It is incredibly hot here in the south east of England at he moment – almost unbearably so. Everyone likes a bit of sunshine once in a while, but when it’s bearing down at you and the humidity is high, then it can be hellish. I opted not to leave the house yesterday and I won’t be venturing outside today until this evening.

I've run out of hayfever tablets!!!!

The last 3 years in England were summerless so it's been lovely to have a long spell with nice clear skys.

Today is the hottest day this year in Berlin, so far...

40°C or 104°F.

the record in whole germany has been 40.2 °C in 2003 and 1983.

The hottest day ever measured in Holland is 38,6 ºC on 23 augustus 1944, but as you may know this is measured on open field one meter above the surface, so with temperature like this in the city it will be way up the 40.

Yesterday I measured 40 degrees out side my car when driving it got to 34

Keep in mind that all temperature is measured in the shade. It's ALWAYS hotter in the sun.

I thought the Icelandic volcano was going to cool down Europe, so the experts said, but until now they are quite wrong.

Earlier in the week it was 104 degrees Fahrenheit in New York City, or 40 degrees Celsius.

It is not that bad now but still very hot.

Take a hormon shot / injection and it keeps you safe of hayfever for a month.
I've done it the last 5 years and it has been the best medicin ever.
Non, my hayfever is almost not existing.

Well think about it - people will stand out in the sun and say "Oh it's 95 degrees" and it's NOT! It's 140 degrees!
