Gluttony, our second favorite deadly sin!

Wait until there are competitive eating weight classes, like boxing.

The power, the passion. Can you imagine the captain of the Ireland team (who didn't get to compete for the World Cup because of a missed handball call) charging the podium when the World Cup is presented next week?

Give us a break!

Eating contests exist in other nations too. You could make an argument like that about items other than food;e.g., The money spent on the Rolling Stones by their fans should be used to end poverty where ever.

See my answer above to bernardanderson.

"organized gluttony" is hardly an "aspect" of American life; likewise, the existence of eating contests in other nations hardly defines any particular nationality, culture, religion, etc..

Man, some people . . ..

Have a nice day.

"Currently ranked third, Kobayashi still holds world records for eating cow brains (17.7 pounds in 15 minutes), lobster rolls (41 in 15 minutes) and rice balls (20 pounds in 30 minutes)."

This guy is pretty good.
