I wasn't in love with this song at first but it did grow on me a few years after VL came out.

I think Mean Disposition is one of the very best ones on the Voodoo Lounge album....maybe THE best song - it really swings, even the bassguitar is doing a solid job - despite it not being Bill Wyman....is it Keith ? Can't remember.

I also didn´t understand why they didn´t put it on the DoubleLP. Well, it was then a just CD track. Lousy policy because the CD only bonus tracks business was in the eighties, they where a little bit late I would say

They probably had some catching up to do.
I love the song as well, by the way.

To me it's more of a filler track.
But if at all I like the earlier Version much better!

Agree with Erik - got a good feel and swing to it - crank it.

is this one a re-do from '77-78 Paris, or is that just "Too Young"?

Nice little tune that swings and rocks. It's better than half the album ha ha.

To me it sounds like something that almost could be filler but is instead marvellous in its unpretentious simplicity.

That - I agree with
Strikes one as a filler at first - but suddenly one realises that it really swings and creates a great loose mood. "Mean Disposition" is a great icebreaker....for the listener who's sitting there wondering what he thinks of "Voodoo Lounge".

yeah, I think it has a lot more energy than the rest of the album, so I assumed it was a leftover from another session. Reminds a bit of the Undercover album--where mick is always being pushed around by tougher women--but a more stripped-down sound.

To me, it doesn't fit on the album. It's just tacked on to the end. It sounds like a song from some 80's movie soundtrack to me. I like it alright, and would rather have it than not, but it's certainly not the greatest.

that's true, but the album it's tacked onto is IMO not very good overall, so this is less of an issue than it might be.

I always loved this track!! It's only flaw is that horrible snare sound. An EQ sweep around 250 to 450 helps out a ton. The breaks are killer!!

Reminds me of a modern take of "Cool, Calm ,Collected", especially with the wild,
abandoned rock out at the end. Also love the razor sharp guitars at the chorus.
One of their best in the latter days. "I could have stood you up" also comes to mind.

It should have been on the vinyl in place of "Baby Break it Down". It's a good one.

Yep, sounds like it needed a lot more work to really jell.....good demo though...
