been one hell of a great live albums ever!

I got this bootleg in my mailbox yesterday and have been listening to it
a number of times. With the knowledge of the sound on the bootleg and the
great shape the Stones were on this ocassion it would have been great to have this concert released as an live album.

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

Yeah, it's a wonderful show. Wasn't this the debut of 'Nearness Of You'?

I have it lying about somewhere. Will have to dig it out.

My mistake. It was the Munich theatre show I was thinking of!

The Stockholm equivelent was fab, though. Great version of 'Sympathy For The Devil' is I recall.

It's f-----g unbelievable that the house is still standing.
The foundation must have crumbled to pieces!

Sympathy for the devil is 11,38 minutes long and is the greatest version I've heard!

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

No debut of Nearness. And I don´t agree, swedish as I am...There were better shows...and ONE guitarplayer (drunk) is not enough...But I´m glad you like it,1964!!! One mans meat is another mans poison, as Keith once said...

Well, then we don't hear the same things and that's a shame!
But as with everything else, we can't always agree!

It really is a great show, though I thought other shows (Wiltern Theater comes to mind) were better. I am a little surprised actually at how many people call this and the Roseland Ballroom shows the best of the tour.

I was lucky to be there...beautiful city, and a damn great show!
One of the best of that tour in my opinion, and nearly as great as Vredenburg '03.
In general, the Licks tour was outstanding, full of great shows...stadiums/arena's/ theaters...
Hopefully the next tour (if there is one) will copy the blueprint for Licks,
but sadly, I don't think we'll ever see anything like that again from the Stones.

I was at Cirkus in Stockholm, sure is one gig I´ll never forget!
Get the Crystal Cat CD from the show, probably the best boot of the tour.

To Havo.

I was innside both shows. Cirkus Krone Munchen is the best show I've ever seen!!
It was fantastic. But the bootleg from Cirkus-Stockholm as Vilhelm says (The Crystal Cat) is one of the best in sound and it's really great.(I think my 2'nd best show was Cirkus-Stockholm - and the best performance of one song I've ever heard - That's how strong my love is)..None of my Cirkus-Krone bootlegs have good sound.

I was at both shows too, even having a beer with Per-Arne!
I agree that Cirkus Krone in Munich was the best show of the two. Probably one of the top 3 out of the 110 shows I've seen.
That being said: Cirkus in Stockholm had the FINEST moment. Yes, "That's How Strong My Love Is" saw Jagger singing his heart out. The audience cried, his band mates were stunned. After the song, Keith went up to Mick saying: That's the MAN, that's MY man! And gave him a big hug.
I'd done quite all right up untill then, but now I started to cry, too. And the big, tall strong men standing around me (looked like a biker gang) also cried, so it was not at all embarrassing. After the show, even heaven was crying. The worst rain storm on the tour? (Bangalore might have been worse)
I listen to the bootleg from Stockholm a lot. The sound's superiour to that of the bootlegs from Munich.

It's a great audience boot with some really nice performances. There are, however, as pointed out above, a few train wrecks mixed in. I would not say it's their best gig...

Yeah, I feel the same.
A nice boot because of the very good aud. sound and some good song renditions. But a lot of not so good ones too!

So it would not have made for a great live album!

It seems strange that this was professionally filmed yet they chose the Paris show for the DVD. As much as I love the Paris DVD, this does seem like a much stronger performance overall.

Agreed but maybe "recorded in Paris" had more appeal than "recorded in Stockholm"

Or the Stones camp KNEW the Crystal Cat gang would make a better tape of the show than their own techs? >grinning smiley<

I was outside the Cirkus that evening....and left as the concert started - me and my friends only had tickets for the 2 other Stockholm concerts.
It's a really really good recording by CCR - but there were some trainwrecks there; but so there were in Olympia, Paris.

Cirkus Stockholm a totaly awesome show, I was in front with my oldman, probably in my opinion best club gig of the tour, I was at Krone, Astoria, Roseland and the Palais. thats my two sense..
