...and so the plot thickens...Keith claimed in recent interviews that Taylor did not do any additional work on the re-release of Exile...Keith's interviews that took place at the Mercer Hotel in New York were very recent....but.......according to Don Was.....<<Don Was, who has co-produced the Stones' albums since 1994, says Jagger, Richards and even guitarist Mick Taylor, who left the band in 1974, touched up the tracks over a two-day period in New York last September.>>
Could Jagger have kept this under wraps from KR for 7 months??...really??..

The Mercer Hotel interviews were done in December, if that helps.

I love the title of this thread.

It makes me want to say something like "Professor Plum in the Library with the Candlestick".

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

In the very latest issue of Rolling Stone (alternate covers: Mick or Keith), Jagger only mentions Taylor being brought in to work on Plundered My Soul.

No,only a few people did I suppose.. It wasn't an issue for me in december.
But as soon as there was speculation about it, I asked about it and I new it for sure.(Apart from Keith track, cause I misinterpreted my info.Sorry for that.

It still seems odd that Keith wouldn't have been told. Bringing MT in, even for a bit of work on a single track, is something Keith should have known about. I'm not so sure Keith didn't know all along.

well this bit is misleading and only true regarding Keith.
Mick T. and Mick J. went into a studio in London as I recall from one of the countless interviews. Jagger mentioned it only took about half an hour or so.

dang! now where's that interview.

ah, found it thanks to Rocks Off - allthough I meant a different one.

Actually, Keith was phoning in from "a small island in the West Indies" for the Guitar World interview, which is the one where he said MT did no new work on the outtakes. The date of the interview is not given, but it's clear that by that point in time, there were already rumors of Taylor' involvement, so his involvement had probably already happened by then, which means either Keith was fibbing, or he didn't know about it, or he knew and forgot.

>>Actually, Keith was phoning in from "a small island in the West Indies" for the Guitar World interview<<

There, that's reason enough for me.
You know, it ain't easy to stay in touch with the HQs when you're at the sunny beach.
Mick might have even told Keith: look, I'll do some overdubs with Mick.
and Keith probably replied: sure man, have fun. I know you're a whole bunch of guys...

You're welcome. Now I cordially invite you to go have sex with yourself again, but this time, take the stick out of your ass when you're done - that always leaves me in a bad mood too.
