amidst the flurries of taylor threads and Exile re-issue, in the spirit of good wishes for Mick Taylor's health and continuing work as a Rolling Stone,

(and also, a warm moment of remembering Stu and Brian from mick j,

keith thanks leo fender "and mick and mick and ronnie" )

"i STILL FEEL LIKE I'M WORKING FOR HIM" SAYS KEITh of Stu....

ron's uber gracious hand off invitation to Mick Taylor to take podium....

nice stuff all around. tayloR's the one who mentions bill and charlie, interestingly....ha....
for those oooh have seen a zillion times please excuse...here's another spin...and for new member who ain't seen this bit of history...it's one of the few post taylor years appearances of taylor with old band mates...that gig in kansas....and now the pms overdubs i guess... and this....

any other meetups or projects between taylor and other stones over the years, prior to pms and exile redux?? Thanks in advance for info..comments contributions....Get well mick taylor!!!

Well, he has played with Bill Wyman many times and on Keith's Talk Is Cheap, also he played on John Phillips "Pay Pack & Follow" with Keith, Mick J. & Ron Wood.

cancellation letter from mick's management to re: the may nineteen show in dallas.
(mick has played dallas before! )
winking smiley

"Anyhow, due to Taylor's recent health problems, the May 19 show isn't going to happen--at least not until late summer. Earlier this week, the show was officially canceled. Here's the email from Taylor's management team that was sent to Granada owner Michael Schoder:

As you may have heard, Mick Taylor has been hospitalized after several dates in the Northeast. He felt a bit unwell, and as it was a Sunday, we decided to bring him to the hospital emergency room near the venue in Fall River, Massachusetts. We were told at first that he might be in the hospital only a day or two as a precautionary measure, but when a respiratory specialist was brought in, he strongly suggested caution and therefore, Mick remains hospitalized indefinitely with pneumonia. Initially I postponed only a couple of dates as we thought he would be back on his feet very quickly, but we have since decided that it is necessary to postpone the entire tour until August.
Here's hoping Taylor feels better and can resume his tour in August.

Until then, check out that Exile reissue and see what got Taylor canned from the Stones."

what got him canned? what an idiot this writer is. taylor quit and it drove keith and mick into panic.... they are only starting to talk about it lately...complimenting and appreciating mick taylor...
how does this stuff get into the culture? mick was not CANNED from the stones. he pretty much canned them is was it was.

What a stuuuupid remark, indeed.

Q: How was your relationship as a guitarist different with Mick Taylor than with [his predecessor] Brian Jones?
A: Brian and I worked very close together as far as rhythm and leads were concerned.
With Mick Taylor, he’s far more of a soloist, and I had to adjust. It was great fun to reinvent the sound of the band, because Mick certainly changed it a lot.
He’s a beautiful player and it’s just a matter of finding the new slot.
And I enjoyed playing with him. I was really pissed off when he left.
