Exile has moved into the top ten on Amazon

The Stones have moved into the top ten (currently at #7) at Amazon.com

I wonder if the positive Jimmy Fallon press having an effect on sales?

Amazon sales means nothing on the overall chart, about 7% of the total.
You can be #1 on Amazon and #150 on the main top 200.

Georgelicks,

I understand your point, but these charts have proven to be a fair gauge of where the Stones will debut in the past.

I don't think a top 15-20 debut on Billboard is out of the question.

given the working title of exile - jungle and/or tropical disease - it doesn't surprise me at all that this is doing well on amazon....

Think they are all Virgin reissues or orders for UME?

All pre-orders

Don't look now, but the Stones have moved up to number three on Amazon. I understand that this is far from a scientific sample, but if as Georgelicks suggests Amazon represents 7% of album sales the Stones could debut pretty high next week.

Exactly. When you add them together the Stones may very well have the #1 album on Amazon.

I don't expect a #1 debut on Billboad, but a top ten is not out of the question.

So it's ranking high just on orders for the new release and nothing else. I haven't ordered it because I'm going to a store, hopefully, the just get it. That's somewhat encouraging as far as actually selling something because people are catching on that it's coming back out and are ordering it. Then again, maybe people are ordering it because of, ha ha, the ten new songs...

Actually it is currently the number two album on the Amazon music charts. This chart takes all sales into account not just pre-orders. Stones fans are going to be pleasantly surprised where the Exile re-release debuts on Billboard.
