Stones new exile tracks overdubbed - from Chicago Tribune

Very good sad smileyInterview with Jagger in the Chicago Tribune today in which he admits that a lot of the new tracks were pretty skeletel and that the Stones added a lot when they reworked them. Disappointing but we all knew this anyway.

I thought the article was very good in that it is critical of the Stones for rereleasing Exile with really no new material. Exactly how I feel.yawning smiley

MIck: "But “Following the River” was originally called “Wally’s Whistling Saw.” I wasn’t going to stick with that title for a romantic ballad."

Good God, Jagger must be talking to every media outlet in the civilized world. I next expect to see an interview with him in my old junior high school paper.

well..Chicago is a major city.

it's too bad he didn't ask (& clear up) the Mick Taylor rumor.
MJ didn't volunteer that info either.

Open g- Hey no prob. I also thought it was very good. The one with Keith is also good. Seems that Keith didn't want to mess with any of the original material but I guess Jagger overrode him. It would be a nice package if they had just included the book and the DVD without adding these 1972/2010 hybrid songs. Oh well.

When you go on the Chicago Tribune web site click 'entertainment' and then 'theater'. Scroll down and on the right hand side you will see a link for a new play in Chicago called "Aftermath" about the early Rolling Stones.
