Great on beely....I also love the live El McCombo version as well. And did anyone notice how the live version of Sweet Black Angel sounds like a precursor to DLD?

That discussion begins and ends with the original lineup of the Allman Brothers Band. Which is not to say their the current Allman Brothers Band lineup is any slouch.

that Allmans clip could also qualify for best two drum attack ever

i'd never seen this clip - thanks for posting.. holy crap, where's it from etc? Is there a dvd out there of this, and is there more? i didn't even know there was ABB footage of this vintage (and quality) out there

at this stage the guitar combo of Duane and Dickie was heart stopping

after Stones, ABB is my favorite .. no slight intended to MJ but IMO the best white blues howler ever, was/is one Gregory Lenoir Allman

It's not much of discussion if the merits of other really great guitar duos are not discussed. Ask 10 people the same question and you will get 10 different answers. Instead of answering the question by naming your "favorite" guitar duo, because that what this question is really about, why not say why you think they are "the best"? Otherwise it just a list of guitar duos with no qualifying statements. Let's make it more interesting, ne? So why do think Duane and Dickey are "the best" baxlap?

ah but ronnie of wood had not yet come along to rustily approximate taylors parts.
this shows the pure bliss and uber rooted toppermost double rhythm. it's perfect rock and roll guitar. times two. these are the magical four hands behind every Golden Era mind blowing track...here especially. charlie too. just amazing.

stones77 - This is from the Fillmore East - they recorded a few songs that night.
Outstanding version of: Dreams - but the guy on the mixing board must have been stoned as he didn't have the volume turned on for gregg's mike for 3/4 of the song? you vcan barely hear him but Duane's leads were a beaut!
