Thought this was very cool - it's silent, but very early footage. Maybe San Antonio?

I'm pretty sure it's San Jose.

If it's the same as I remember, a local TV station found the footage and some people who were there.
They used this footage as a news feature, including interviews with a couple of girls who were caught on the film.
It used to be on YouTube, may still be, I just can't find it right now.

Any guesses to what songs are being played??

Hotel pool footage elsewhere on the Internet, which is combined with this footage, identifies it as Fresno, California, which would make sense because the large 'Bulldogs' banner behind the stage suggests Fresno State University. In addition, the 'KMake Radio 134' banner at the front of the stage refers to a Fresno radio station of that time.

Reading Mick's lips one can see him singing 'Time is on My Side,' and 'Route 66.' You can also see Charlie playing the drum breaks on Route 66. It appears that Keith may be playing the lead fills for 'Around and Around.' These were typical setlist numbers from that tour, I believe.

Some sound comes in at around 4:50 then cuts in & out for the rest of the clip.

You can hear Time Is On My Side & Around and Around.

Thanks Brue!

And yeah, it would have been 'Around and Around,' not 'Reelin' and Rockin''.

That's a brilliant find - thank you.

Bob Bonis took a number of pictures at this concert: this is the only one I have in a postable condition, but you can find two or three more here:

here's a post from marvpeck with some remarks from Charlie about that: [www.iorr.org]
i have shots from 1967 tour where he still seems to be using matched grip;
by 1969 he had definitely changed to traditional. so which style was he using at the Rock & Roll Circus?

meanwhile, thanks for posting this footage! very sweet indeed :E

The first close up footage of Brian shows he's playing Everybody Needs Somebody to Love.

Doubt the short snippets of sound are from this gig.

are they Sullivan Show renditions, or from the TAMI Show? they sound familiar.
i reckon they were just tacked on just to provide a clue as to what was being played.

I think they were filling up venues in NY & LA in '65, but it wasn't until later that they were filling venues everywhere else.

at this show they were about two weeks away from blowing the lid off of everything for good:
they'd recorded Satisfaction on may 10th, but it wasn't released until early june.

I've had this concert footage for about 25 years and on the tape I got it on it was identified as Fresno 1965, so I've always presumed that was correct.

...also the truck that brought the Stones to the site said "Valley Armored Transport" a company that was exclusive to the Fresno area at that time.
