...is it just me or does the bass&snare drum sounding more powerful?
just listen to the bass drum on "all down the line" or the snare on "tumblin dice" - more reverb and a little dark, a bit like the 1974`s LP "it´s only rock´n´roll" drum sound..

what do u think?

Yes, I agree totally. I record music myself at home, and I know you can get that kind of sound by using compression and reverb, perhaps adding bass and treble. It gives a bit of an 80s rock sound.

Don't know what it stems from in this instance. It could be that the person who recorded his flexi disc and uploaded it to youtube cranked the volume though the roof, thereby compressing it. But since the rest of the music (guitars, vocals, etc.) sound pretty normal, that might not be the case. It could also be a homemade remaster with some compression, EQ, etc.

Sounds like a bad EQ job by someone in the line of recording up until this post.
