Medleys

Last night at a jam, I heard a band put together Feelin' Alright
with You Can't Always Get what You Want.

I thought they did a great job on both and the two songs really went
well together.

I was wondering if others have heard good examples of medleys
with at least one a Stones song?

Jay Ferguson does a medley of "Let's Spend The Night/Have You Seen Your Mother" on his Real Life Ain't This Way album. Very unusual pairing I thought.

One night at a gig somewhere in Alabama, I think, we did, on purpose, a horrible rendition of Sweet Home Alabama that segued into Stray Cat Blues - which was much better, of course.

But I don't dare say it was good.

I was at bar a couple of years ago where a local soul band blended 'Walk On tHe Wild Side' in with YCAGWYW. Sounded completely natural too.

Elmo

Spend the night and seen your mother is a strange pairing
but oddly enough it seemed to work...

Season of the Witch seems to work with a lot of songs.
I think I just heard CSN pair it with Something Happening here.

Part of what got me to thinking about this was Simon and Garfunkles
concert in Central Park
when they paired Kodachrome with Maybellene.

I just really appreciate medleys that are done well..

Is that the guy who sang "Thunder Island"?

Wasn't looking too good, but I was feeling real well.

My highschool band used to do a medley of the Chili Peppers' Under the Bridge with Beast of Burden. The verses' chord sequences are nearly identical.

Yes. He was keyboard player in Jo Jo Gunne (a Chuck Berry song title) who had a minor hit with "Run Run Run" in the early 70's.

"No Anchovies, Please"

I'm not such a fan of medleys. Must've been that Baby I Love Your Way/Free Bird thing that was a hit about 25 years ago that did it.
