I used to have this on a vinyl boot (Black Box? I can't remember) but have not been able to find it on CD. Anyone know where I can get it. It was a brilliant take on the Bo Diddley number, with 19-year-old Mick doing his most outlandish black American accent ("not that alley, that alley over there!")
I asked Bo Diddley once about this song, and he completely dismissed it. He said "some guy came into the studio with the lyrics on a piece of paper and I just read them."...I was crushed.
Never seen it on CD, at least under this title. The LP I have is the size of a 45 RPM so maybe people think it's not worth it to make a CD limited to only a few songs? (which begs the question as to why one of the new Ya-Yas CDs only has a handful of songs on it)
