Cops & Robbers

I used to have this on a vinyl boot (Black Box? I can't remember) but have not been able to find it on CD. Anyone know where I can get it. It was a brilliant take on the Bo Diddley number, with 19-year-old Mick doing his most outlandish black American accent ("not that alley, that alley over there!")

I asked Bo Diddley once about this song, and he completely dismissed it. He said "some guy came into the studio with the lyrics on a piece of paper and I just read them."...I was crushed.

It was recorded for the BBC. You can find it on just about any BBC compilation.

Does that have anything to do with this Cops and Robbers? I have it but need to give it another listen.

Never seen it on CD, at least under this title. The LP I have is the size of a 45 RPM so maybe people think it's not worth it to make a CD limited to only a few songs? (which begs the question as to why one of the new Ya-Yas CDs only has a handful of songs on it)

Its also one of the best songs from the early years, Jagger's vocals are great!

Swingin' Pig' BBC sessions (I know they are out of business) try used stores.
