I accidentally deleted important email messages from Outlook Express IN Box
They are now in Recycle Bin in a bak.file.
How can I retrieve and get back into my In Box?

I have Windows XP medica center PC.

Thanks to any bright human on IORR who can help me solve the problem. An easy way, if possible. I am technology challenged.

I had a similar problem several years ago.

There are software tools which can open the .bak files and help you retrieve all the individual messages. Worked fine for me. Just do a Google search...

If they're in your Recycle Bin all you need to do is highlite them and a box will pop-up and you hit "restore". That should put them back to their original location. If that doesn't work try copying / pasting to a file somewhere. At that point just change the file extensions(s) fro "bak" to whatever and then you should be able to re-open them.
