"I've got a thing about you" is a little tune which could probably be more efficient if heard live. It has a good guitar riff (yes very simple) with a good tone(thick, Ron, finally) with a good beat. I like the "mark it" at the beginning. I love that tune like I love"Dance tittle sister"; just a good rocker.

Ronnie said in his radio show, that he wrote the song Thing About You
together with Billy Gibbons in about 10 minutes. Nevertheless IMO it's a
great rockin' tune. Ronnie is on guitar and bass, Gibbons on guitar and
Steve Ferrone on drums. Bernard Fowler sings backing vocals.
Ronnie also told the listeners that the album is mixed, but not mastered yet.
So I guess it won't be out too soon.

Yes, there is. If Ringo Starr can put out albums and sell them, a Rolling Stones member such as Ronnie can do as well.

Ringo Starr - as much of a punchline as he's become - sang lead vocals on famous Beatles songs. He had #1 hit singles during the 1970s. Ronnie Wood has zero commerical appeal except for hardcore fans of the Rolling Stones or the Faces.

Ringo has no appeal at all - to me, it looks like he has some skin disease and therefor keeps his beard groving.
His voice is a disaster - listen to yellow submarine, Ronnie for sure sing way better. People saying opposite don't know what's singing is all about yawning smiley)

I'd like to clarify that I had absolutely no intention of turning this one into a Ringo thread with the comparison I made a few posts ago.

And yes, even in the current market climate, artists from the classic rock era, such as Ronnie, still generate decent sales.

If it's not us on this board that are positive about planned album releases like this, then who else? Me, I cannot wait for the arrival of the "I Feel Like Playing" album. "Wingless Angels II" as well, I must add.

I don't think he cares that much for sales... of course wants some money... but I believe Ronnie wants a good thing out. winking smiley

how many originals?

Tough question...

Anyway, the times when labels signed Ronnie just to have a Stone in the artist roster and pay ridiculous advances that could never be recouped are over...theres simply not much money anymore in the music business.

Thats probably the reason why this album is still not released - a fair advance for the worldwide market potential as mentioned above is probably not enough money for Ronnie...or, to put it the other way round: Theres probably no label willing to pay the money Ronnie is asking for.

He has a record company backing him up - Steve Bing's Shangri-La Entertainment, I think. That's been mentioned here before. Several times.

New Ronnie Song - I Gotta Go (from the Radio show) with Billy Gibbons and Bernard on vocals - actually sounds like a song Bernard would have penned. Also sounds a bit as if it was about leaving Jo?
