Do you have any thing special planned for Halloween this year ?

Here in Germany it is getting bigger and bigger, almost comparable to the USA.

We used to celebrate it some years ago in France -children wearing costumes and doing "trick-or-treat" to the neigbours but it seems it's no longer fashionable nowadays....

I am a Frenchie ,as Mick affectionately called them in the Old Grey Whistle Test in 1977 .

Local rockers pub is having a party, mate of mine will be on the wheels of steel, playing rock music from 8 O'clock onwards.

It's a fancy dress do, so hopefully everyone will be getting into the spirit of things. I'm getting dressed up like a chick: fishnet stockings, mini skirt, bra etc.

Only problem is, as this year it's on a saturday, I like to get into the pub early, so I going to have to walk from my place through town to get to the boozer, midday on the weeken. Got a feelin I'll be getting some funny looks on the way there.

Ah well, bollocks to 'em all. I gots some rockin to do!!

Rock on man

I'm taking my boy trick or treating. Besides, i'm too old to play "slut-o-ween".

what the hell is slut-o-ween? and why the hell haven't i ever played it?

Must be an American thing, all halloween means over here in the UK, is a bunch of ASBO's knocking on people's door asking for money. Don't think we get into the spirit of things over here as much as they do across the pond.

Saying that, I'm planning on getting into the spirit of things this year, pretty much all of optics, rights across the bar.

Hell yeah, Born in a crossfire hurricane!

Keep on rockin!

monkeytonkman - you don't play slut-o-ween, you just call it that.

Halloween to me was about going to a party in a funny costume - now it's pretty much an excuse to dress like a slut and get drunk. I liked it better when it was about being funny - but I'm a girl so....

i'm sure it's much more fun for the guys!

Right O cindyC, ta for clearing that up - thought i'd been missing out on something.

Reckon I got the right idea then. Looking forward to this saturday, good music, good friends, good beer. (come to think of it, sounds like any night down the local rock pub) only difference is we'll all be dressed up in clothes other than denim and leather!

Ah, well, lets get rockin. Be rude not to man!

I hate HALLOWEEN! I never liked it even when I dressed in my leopard costumes with 5 inch heels! Now I hand out candy and at 7pm when it's time to quit, I sit and eat the left- over candy! I do hate it when we get the BIG KIDS with no costumes and huge sacks for their loot, and wearing a football jersey...come on guys, that is NOT a costume and you are WAY too old for trick or treat! And these kids are TOO RUDE!

It's my dad's 79th birthday. I was in the hospital in 1966 w/pneumonia & my parents came to visit me. When they returned home the house was vandalized because they weren't there to give out sweets.

Hmmm, probably watch a Japanese horror flick. Some of the ones I have seen are not overtly gorey but work a deeply sub-consciousness level. Scary!

Halloween is simply another attempt by American commercialism to lure candy (sugar) sales on consumers under the pretense of silly costumes.

This Halloween is my 15th anniversary at my job. I am going to the racetrack with my father during the day. My wife and I haven't decided if we are giving out candy or going to the movies. We were invited to a couple parties and clubs but they are all at least 25 miles away.
