The Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man

Hi all
I've listened to Japanese CD "Single Collection The London Years" (released in 1989)
Just noticed there's another version of "The Under Assistant West Coast Promo Man".
Longer than "Out of our heads" LP and harmonica is mixed more clearer on guitar solo.
Did Anyone know this ?

Rockman, are you sure that this version really was on the US 7"?
If so, it must have been on early pressings only, as it´s not on my later copy.

This 1989 Singles Collection was the first time I ever heard (of) it!
I don´t think it had even been mentioned before that...

-Recorded May 10 & 11, 1965. Released on Out Of Our Heads in 1965. Longer version with extra lyrics at song's ending, which was on the early pressings of Out Of Our Heads, was added back in and released on Rolling Stones Singles Collection - The London Years in 1985.

The long version is also on the import Decca lp "No Stone Unturned", isnt it? Of course you can listen to "Fannie Mae" from the BBC or Chess Sessions cd and imagine Jagger's lyrics(since its the same song! HEE HEE)

No - and not on any other album either...
(If it indeed was on the original press of Out Of Our Heads, I´d very much like to get that verified!)

Yeah, guess I was thinking about"Who's Driving Your Plane" (and dont ask me why!)
I have an original copy of "Out Of Our Heads", now my curiosity is peaked. Guess I'll have to go listen to it!

Thanks for reply guys.

Few thoughts.
Keith plays both Electric & Accoustic guitar on this song.
Mick plays harmonica. He didn't get notes well during solo part so Keith's guitar solo was dabbed louder on Out of our heads LP. Probably.
Brian didn't play anything.

Harmonica on BBC Fanny Mae is Brian.

I always thought it was Brian on harmonica!
(Still do...)

So, until someone proves otherwise, these are the facts as I see them:

1. The long, alternate mix was first released on the 1989 Singles Collection box.

2. Harmonica is by Brian.

3. It´s a great track!
