Here's letting you know about a pretty special event in the New York area. On Saturday night, November 7, I'll be discussing (and signing copies of) "Under Their Thumb" at the Brooklyn Museum.
But that's not the special part. The special part is that it's in conjunction with the museum's highly-anticipated "Who Shot Rock & Roll" exhibit -- featuring photos of the Stones, among others -- and that admission will be free for the night. The event is part of the museum's monthly "First Saturdays" series and provides a rare chance to view all of the museum's exhibits (in a party-like atmosphere) without paying a dime.
The museum is located at 200 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn. I go on at 9 PM in the book club, but free admission to the museum begins at 5 PM. So come early to check out the exhibits and/or to grab a bite or a brew. (They do sell food and adult beverages.)
I'd recommend this fun event even if I weren't participating. You can get further info and directions at the museum's web site. [www.brooklynmuseum.org]
