Tinariwen are playing in Vienna. I must admit I've never heard of that band.

I read that Keith said, they are the best Guitar-Rockband in the WORLD. (It was in an austrian paper)

Can anybody remember when he said this?
And did anybody hear or see them? Are they really that good?

I must confess that I don't get the thread's title: can you be only one or the other? Like an ultimatum:"Ok guys you got to pick your path here: either you're from Africa, or you're gonna be the greatest band in the world"
They are cool; but since I don't understand them, it makes a big impact on me to also picture them out there in Mali.

Didn´t they open for the Stones at Slane Castle 2007?

Here´s another very good one from them.
I was lucky to see them live last year on a World Music Festival, and they are great, believe me. Just listen to the second music on this video. A bit of Velvet Undergorund with an african "parfum"

Yeah, they sound great, and I'll go to see them in November.

But, to be honest, I can't see, why Keith thinks, they are the best Guitar-Rockband in the world.
