Anyone have any idea how to Keith this jacket comes from the Dutch police? Souvenir after a night hum? The picture was taken backstage during the show in Oslo of the Bridges to Babylon Tour in 1998.

If you know, please answer to Rob [stoneslog.web-log.nl]

I can assure you - that photo has not been manipulated. It's mine. Didn't even fix the colours or shadows.
I have nothing to do with the police jacket, either. He was wearing it before the show. But it's quite usual for fans with access back stage to bring presents. And the person who gets the most presents... Make a guess!

BTW: You probably saw the photo here [www.iorr.org]
Because that's the only place it's ever been shown in public.
This is from a thread that's only a couple of days old, Voja. The story behind the photo is also there.

I remember Keith was wearing that jacket when he got off the plane in Oslo 1998 - paper said something about him getting it at the airport in Holland or something like that

Hasn'r Keith always had a thing for those kind of jackets? And I can see many officials (nowadays) having no problem, or even feeling honored to give Keith their jacket

OK, but where did you find it before you put it on your own web site?
You found it here. The only place it's been published.

Since it's mine - I'd like you to remove it. I only accept seing it on IORR, and nowhere else.
Ya read me?

Voja - please respect my wish. You used the photo in a setting I dislike a lot.
Speculation: Souvenir after a night hum?
I really don't like that kind of speculation and we're talking about a photo of a small girl and Keith.
You've dragged that sweet photo into the dirt and I really don't like it.
So remove it - and I'll forget all about it.

With all respect - yes it's yours, but you spilled it onto the internets.
and that's like pouring wine into the atlantic and now you want it back...

it's not being used comercially, is it?

now what's with the police emblems? where they real or photoshopped?

sorry to digress, but what does "a night hum" mean?

Voja wrote in his first post:Anyone have any idea how to Keith this jacket comes from the Dutch police? Souvenir after a night hum? The picture was taken backstage during the show in Oslo of the Bridges to Babylon Tour in 1998. End of quote. (The same speculation is also written in the Dutch web site - in Dutch - which I can read, but not speak.)

I think the word "night" is important here, with sssoul.
It's a dirty speculation.
I don't want my picture to be used in a setting like that.

And open-g - no, there's no photoshop in that photo. He was wearing that jacket backstage. Dagbladet, a local newspaper, wrote that Keith was given this jacket by a fan at the airport in Holland.

>> Voja wrote in his first post: ... Souvenir after a night hum? <<

yes, i know Voja wrote it, and i'm curious what it means - just plain old linguistic curiosity.
it's not a functioning idiom in English, at least not that i've ever heard.
is it a direct translation of a Dutch idiom, or ... ? and in any case, what does it mean?

Re: Help needed

The Dutch verb "brommen" can be translated as "to hum". But in this case it means "to be in jail".

ah so: so "a night hum" means "a night in jail"? cool - thanks, Koen!

(and since iorr is such an educational site :E it's probably good to emphasize once again
that that's not an English-language idiom, or one that English speakers can understand without asking)

Quite a few people understand Dutch. The Stones have an office in Amsterdam, and I felt really uncomfortable with my pic being linked to something that suggested something that could have been transformed into a false rumour.
I'm sure you see the point.

Addicted/gstone/angel, my question about the meaning of the Dutch idiom was not related to the photo.
as i said above: it was purely linguistic curiosity. Koen answered my question.
yes, i grasp that people who know Dutch understand a Dutch idiom. but Voja used it in English,
and on an international site i felt it wouldn't hurt to let people know it doesn't function as an English idiom.
(and it doesn't mean anything "dirty", so maybe that's an example of how uncommunicative the idiom is in English.)

so the photo issue is resolved now, and my unrelated language question is answered.
can we go on to something else now? thanks
