Very promising band out of Providence, RI released their sophomore album today. Named the #1 act to follow out of SXSW, Deer Tick is difficult to categorize (Rock & Roll is adequate) and their sound hearkens Hank Williams, Crazy Horse, Dylan 68-71, a little Hendrix, Cash, Berry...like I said, tough to categorize. Very bluesy and boozy. "Houston, TX" on Itunes is my current favorite on the new album, and below is some of their past material. Worth checking out, well beyond their 23 years of age. A rather incredible voice by the lead singer as well.
