IORR graffiti campaign in 1974

Apparently the release of It's Only Rock'n'Roll was accompanied by a graffiti campaign. This and the combination of a Leni-Riefenstahl-influenced artwork and graffiti sounds quite innovative for the time. You can tell they were trying to stay on top (at least in terms of design and marketing, and merely trying musically).

Any more information about the graffiti campaign? Do pictures exist?

On the back of Belfast City hall you could STILL just about make out "IT'S ONLY ROCK 'N' " (the final word seemed to have faded after a few years or was painted over) for a good two decades afterwards until the building was refurbished in time for President Clinton's visit to the city in 1994.

When I went to London for the first time in 1974 I took the bus from Heathrow to Victoria. Along the way I was astonished to see so much IORNR graffiti painted, seemingly, everywhere. Upon my return to the US many months later...lo and behold.
And at Rolling Stone Acres, no less.

WOW - NICE PIC!! What a clever campaign! And cheap too (or did they have to pay for the "ad space"? Or the damage? ;-)

Now I no longer have the old "NMEs" to prove it, but I clearly remember that around that time it said something like that Mick himself had been seen at
night painting the town.
