Cornelis Vreeswijk should have turned 70 this year;
several celebration event are to be seen..
This day twenty years ago he died, thus just 50 years old.
Stil recall the disappointment as I finally had got myself
together & had bought a ticket for a concert with the man.
A legend, a symbol for Freedom & Resistance & Outcastness..
Flying Dutchman, Rest In Peace; you gave me so much!!!

For a Dutch* person or anyone, if you want to buy one
of Cornelis' studio albums I'd recommend ya to get this
Its from 1968 & contains manly samba & Swedish folk
plus this kinda singer/songwriter-style in the protest school
yet funny, witty & bluesy he sorta invented.
I have it on vinyl; but wouldnt trade my copy (its NOT at home,
for criminals!) for a Kingdom.
* I figure there are best of-compilations with his Flamish/Dutch catalog
of Cornelis' studio albums I'd recommend ya to get this

Thanks Baboon for reminding this great artist, didn't know he was almost more famous in Sweden then he was in his own country Holland.
A guy in Sweden told me that although it was hard for me to understand what he was saying when he said "Cornelius Vreswijk"

he was is good..there is an double album "blues på svenska " i guess ? with made in sweden backing him..cornelis played "CS BLUES" on the radio,with.you know it ,the group.

"Jag smakade på döden en dag" is a poem written by Cornelis and
Toni put music to the poem. Me and my friend have done a cover of that.
