Stones SBD boots that shockingly don't exist...

I was thinking about Stones bootleg concerts that *should* exist on SBD but surprisingly don't, most notably complete shows from NYC in '69 and Baltimore (which made up the Ya-Ya's album). If you think about it, it's rather shocking that we don't have a SBD recording of at least ONE of these shows...

We have loads of '72 SBDs from the never-released live album, as well as the '73 KBFH live album tracks (Wembley and Brussels). What other shows can y'all think of?

There's a bit of a difference between something 'existing' and what's 'circulating'.

They only circulate in the first place because someone was dishonest/generous (tick where applicable) to leak them. (Broadcasts of mixed live shows from the radio are hardly the same)

When you think of it, its a wonder that we have as much as we DO have.

I don't think that there are many professional recorded and mixed recordings of the Rolling Stones in circulation that are NOT aired on TV or Radio. I can think of Tempe 1981 and some of the 1972 recordings but there are not many more...

Gazza, of course I understand the distinction between "existing" and "circulating"...I myself have helped to liberate many previously unknown recordings by some of my favorite bands (Who, Zeppelin, Blur, Hendrix, etc)...

So I misspoke...I should have said it's shocking we haven't unearthed a SBD of the '69 New York shows!

We have 2 of the 3 New York shows as soundboards, surely?

Most Jimi Hendrix studio sessions exist, some of them in complete form.
Apart from what Midnight Beat (67-68) and Vigotone did (93) you have to come to the conclusion the Stones vaults are locked...

they would be a pretty useless vault if they weren't!

Complete? If so then I haven't been looking in the right places...I only have bits and pieces (not counting the officially released material on Ya-Yas)

I suspect behind it all is the infamous and ill advised contract signing with ABCO. That day hangs over the band like some gothic curse, a shadow never to be escaped. I wonder if the whole tenor of the band would have different had it not signed that contract.

There are many soundbard recordings - video and audio - in private collections. Not everyone do want these pressed for public access, due to various reasons.

Darn, what BV says sounds discouraging. I hope they will release some of the good ones at least?
