What if Keith wandered in to "The Dick Van Dyke Show?"

Classic 60s black and white TV show, starring Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore.

Similar to episode they had in 1964 with Chad and Jeremy, who portrayed a British invasion duo called The Redcoats, staying with Rob and Laura, and appearing on Rob's TV program, The Alan Brady Show.

In the Stones version:

Same basic plot, it's 1965, Stones are appearing on The Alan Brady Show, and staying at the Petrie's house.

Keith and Mick take an immediate interest in Laura, and hilarity ensues.

Jerry, the dentist next door, takes an immediate interest in Keith, realizing he has a good future patient in his midst.

His wife, Millie, disappears with Brian for a couple of days. Wandering back to the neighborhood, days later she is frequenting the New Rochelle Record Store, looking only for discs by artists who play marimbas, dulcimers, sitars, or mellotrons.

Rob and Laura's son Ritchie is in a heartwarming scene with Charlie and Bill as he gets to show them his frog.

Charlie's one line, said to Bill: "Amazin', innit?"

Bill just smiles.

Back at the office, during rehearsals, Stu sits down at the piano in the writer's office and plays honky tonk while Sally sings and Buddy adds in the occasional joke.

Not sure how Alan Brady or Mel fit in yet, but I'm sure somebody else will figure that part out!

If it was in the 60s, Keith and Mel wouldve slipped away for a joint and a beer(how else could Mel put up with Alan and Buddy?) If it was today I guess Keith and Bill couldve borrowed a couple of Alan Brady's wigs!

Next scene:

Rob and Laura decide to have one of their dinner parties where everyone entertains in the living room after dessert and coffee.

Rob's sleepwalking brother, Jerry, pops in with his banjo and does a rousing duet with Keith on "Dear Doctor."

Mel brings in his dummy for the ventriloquist act, but the dummy now sports a very Brian Jones looking blonde wig.

Rob and Laura perform a soft shoe dance routine to the tune of "Paint It Black," which sort of freaks everybody out.

Not to be outdone, Jerry and Millie hop up and get halfway through their version of "Get Off of My Cloud" before the group has enough and loudly urges them to sit down.

Keith would have smashed his head after tripping over that ottoman and never recovered the way Rob did.

BTW, Dick van Dyke's real name is Penis van Lesbian.

My money would be on Fonzie, and this thread will never match the "Mayberry" thread.

Yeah, duke, it's a cheap imitation of the original, but the "Happy Days" scenario has potential. Keith, Mick, and Brian move into Fonzie's apartment and name it Edith Grove West. Bill bangs Joanie. Mrs. Cunningham becomes a junkie.

Here's the great Weezer video for "Buddy Holly" set in Arnold's:

I like this one hehehehe Great job, SNC!!

Excellent thread too, I'm getting a chuckle reading this, prolly cuz I can envision everyone's ideas grinning smiley This one would have been SO MUCH better than the one they did do with I think it was either Chad & Jeremy or Peter & Gordon.

Hey, THANKS, and great pic, too!

At last.....SOMEBODY who appreciates my sense of humor!

I'm just glad I didn't try this idea with "The Real McCoys" or something.....
