Michael Jackson has rescheduled the first four shows of his sell-out This Is It tour at London's O2 Arena causing chaos for fans.

Jackson is set to play to 750,000 fans at the former Millennium Dome during 50 concerts beginning in July and stretching into next year.

However, the first gig will now be July 13 and not July 8 as originally planned.

And fans who were planning to travel to the capital for the next three shows will now have to wait until 2010 to see the King of Pop as the July 10 show has been moved to March 1; July 12 to March 3 and July 14 to March 6.

An email sent to ticket-holders said: "This afternoon Michael Jackson producers will be announcing the rescheduling and change of the opening shows in order to meet the challenges presented by such a large and technically complex concert."

It continued: "Please allow us to apologise. It was not an easy decision to change the schedule but in the end we wanted to ensure that all of Michael's fans attending the concerts get the same quality in staging and level of entertainment."

The email continued: "We are writing to let you know that the 10th July concert that you purchased tickets for at the O2 arena has now been rescheduled for 1st March 2010.

"The tickets you receive will be printed with the rescheduled date and you will have the same seat originally purchased. You do not have to do anything as you will be automatically allocated the same seats and moved to the revised date.

"We understand the inconvenience this may have caused and for this reason we have secured some excellent hotel deals for Michael Jackson fans travelling to London on these rescheduled dates."

The singer's representatives recently denied Jackson has skin cancer and would perform his shows as scheduled.

Randy Phillips, the president and boss of AEG Live, said this week: "As usual, Michael Jackson is a magnet for preposterous and unverifiable stories in the media. He is in great health, working tirelessly on creating the greatest live performance of his career, and does not have skin cancer."

Meanwhile, Jackson has whittled down thousands of dancers to just 12 to join him on stage. Eight of the 5,000 who applied are from the US - Charles Kapow, Ricardo Reid, Tyne Stecklein, Misha Hamilton, Mekia Cox, Nicholas Base, Danielle Rueda-Watts and Christopher Grant.

They will be joined by Germany's Timor Steffens, Australian Shannon Holtzapffel and Canadians Daniel Celbre and Devin Jamieson.

I'm happy for Michael for doing these shows. No doubt he needs money, hopefully he will come the North America also. He's not really my cup of tea, but he does have some songs I like & I could be talked into going just to say I saw the King of Pop.
