Chuck Leavell is the worst thing that ever happened to the Rolling Stones.
Even worse than Mick Taylor departure.

Very mis-guided by the news programme to compare the value of a guitar given by a famous band to one used by a famous guitarist. Nice story, but to increase the value of a guitar beyond its own value as a guitar by any significant factor it needs to have been used to record an album or played live by a guitar great (with photo evidence).
What's so bad about environmental magazines? I remember some MTV spot of Madonna promoting to seperate garbage probably 15 years ago. Every five year old German would have laughed her off talking about such a natural thing on tv!Quote

Is it me or does he receive (or solicit?) quite a bit of media attention? (for a backing musician). I seem to recall an interview on 20/20, various articles in (environmental?) magazines, awards............

Chuck is one of the very best things that ever happened to the Rolling Stones! I swear some folks just like to bash him for the HELL of it! He is a fabulous musician, knows how to get gems onto the set list where NO ONE else can, he is valued by the band so that says something, and he's a really nice man.
The two of us might not agree over AC/DC... but in this case we do agree!Quote

If it wasn't for Chuck, the setlists would be much less adventurous. He's also a brilliant musician with a good track record outside the Stones too, and by all accounts a total gent. There'd be no Stones as we know them now without Chuck. For those who think he's a bit high in the mix, tough sh*t. fact is, the stones need a lot of competent back up on stage these days, and in that role, chuck is the man

ChrisM you should be punished for that unctuous Chuck Leavell "advert"...He's right up there in the Bobby Keyes department for freeloading and "Gee I sure like this.." riff.
