I don't know how well this will work. Never posted video's here before.

I ran across this on youtube and I didn't think it was the Milan footage that's been circulating. Anybody know where it's from?

Only 78 years after the 1792 tour. Still in their formative years!

yeah i know it says 1870 but we all know they meant 1970. I was looking for some real answers here, not quips about a typo.

Its Berlin 9-16-70. You can get it on the 2 dvd set "Live In Europe 1970" from
UrbanSteel.

Perhaps we can put a book together on that 1792 tour that will have more "spice" than all the stuff written about "Exile on Main Street."

Thank you. I have the audio from that Berlin show. I didn't realize there was video footage.

Interesting recording. It's nice through the acoustic blues songs, then it's distorted. I'm guessing the taper turned up the volume for PS and YGM, then forgot to lower it. Jagger's mic blows on DF and most of the song is played very nicely indeed as an instrumental. Play those guitars boys.

So many of those '70 shows try to be good recordings, but few of them actually make it.

Great setlist on that tour.

Probably the most underrated Stones tour of all time. Hardcore fans are the only ones who seem to be hip to the greatness of the 1970 European tour. The lack of any really excellent recordings sort of obscures just how hot the Stones were on this tour.

Probably the most underrated Stones tour of all time.

Have a look at the setlist (thanks to www.nzentgraf.de):
16th September: Berlin, West-Germany, Deutschlandhalle
1) Jumping Jack Flash
2) Roll Over Beethoven
3) Sympathy For The Devil
4) Stray Cat Blues
5) Love In Vain
6) Prodigal Son
7) You Gotta Move
8) Dead Flowers
9) Midnight Rambler
10) Live With Me
11) Let It Rock
12) Little Queenie
13) Brown Sugar
14) Honky Tonk Women
15) Street Fighting Man

Statistics:
A: promoting current (Get Yer...) long player = 90 % of the songs are performed: #1, 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15
B: promoting longplayers since last tour in Germany (Beggars, Through The Past, Bleed) = about 50 % of the songs performed: #1, 3-6, 9-10, 15
C: 33 % of all songs performed were unavailable (world wide) at the time: #2, 7, 8. 11, 13 = 33%

almost forgot that...: 100 % of all songs had never been performed live before in Germany...

Let's compile the "real" Bigger Bang tour...

...yet the crowd were booing during the acoustic set.

Agree that Europe '70 seems to be a forgotten tour.

The acoustic set is the greatest sensation of all in Stones history! Guess, how Mick introduced that bit in Malmo/Sweden on 4 Sep 1970: "This is a Glimmer Twin section"... Four years before the term was introduced to the public on It's Only Rock'n'Roll.

Yeah - like the acoustic set a lot.

BTW anyone knows why Nico Zentgraf lists the circulating Copenhagen show like this?

12th September: Copenhagen, Denmark, Forum
One of both shows included:
(Jumping Jack Flash/Roll Over Beethoven/Sympathy For The Devil/Stray Cat
Blues/Love In Vain/Dead Flowers/Midnight Rambler/Live With Me/Let It Rock/
Little Queenie/Brown Sugar/Honky Tonk Women/Street Fighting
Man)

-I thought that SFM wasn't available on the extant recording?
-Why doesn't he list PS and YGM? The 'sæt jer ned'[=sit down] shouts, which clearly can be heard during those two songs, is a strong evidence that they indeed are from the same above mentioned gig.
