With my best respect for all the Germans here & everywhere,
it sounds like a kinda non-event?

I don't speak German - so am totally baffled by this.
Was it meant to be a free event and they couldn't find sponsors (understandable)?
Or a ticketed event which is less understandable?
If this is the case, it doesn't bode well for any Stones dates in these credit crunching years.

Was it organised by the officials? Why do they always seem to try to book someone who's not even planning to tour? Same where I live.

You all know this place Barak Obama has spoken in Berlin

There is enough space for two or three million people, if it would be a free concert like that in Rio.

But this event will not happen this year, if ever.

BTW: Universal is in Berlin [www.universal-music.de] , too ...

Yes, it would have been a free 3-days event.
now the festivities have been reduced to one day - It seems that that dubious Media Event company gave up because of the lack of sponsors. (indeed understandable)
who are they anyway? not much to be found via google^^
bad idea to have sponsors for that kind of anniversary, imo.
After all, it's the 60th birthday of the german constitution.

I wonder if they had gotten enough sponsors, funds and contacts, could they have gotten the Stones up on stage for one gig?
I doubt it. not when they aren't even touring.
It would have been a major surprise though. damn!

...and while we're at it...

Woodstock in Berlin, at ex-Airport Tempelhof?
Woodstock organizer Michael Lang is negotiating plans to make Woodstock happen in Berlin Tempelhof in August, 22nd or 23rd.
40th year anniversary - Santana, Joe Cocker, The Who, Neil Young & Crazy Horse and Joan Baez...

Im shure this private company only played with the Stones' name!

They wanted to find sponsors tor those events. But the Stones in may - without product and more so without any practice, etc - never!!
