The Duke Spirit wrapped up their US tour with a sold-out show at the Roxy in Los Angeles on Friday night (December 19) as a member of The Rolling Stones looked on.

The London band gave a rousing set that focused primarily on their most recent album 'Neptune' for an adoring crowd that included The Rolling Stones' bassist Ronnie Wood accompanied by an entourage.

Dressed in a gold sequined mini-dress, frontwoman Leila Moss put her band through the paces during the driving, hour-long set.

"Today's our last day after nine weeks on tour," Moss told the crowd. "We've been through a lot. We've seen you elect a new president. We're nearly dead but we made it tonight."

Despite unusually cold LA temperatures, the club was sweltering as the crowd danced and sang along to several tracks.

After the show, the band celebrated their final gig of 2008 by popping a bottle of champagne in their dressing room.

"After the holidays we'll get our ideas together (for a new album) drummer Olly Betts told NME.COM. "We'll get away to Wales where we'll all cook for each other. It's all very civilised. We're like the rock and roll Waltons," he quipped.

The Duke Spirit played:

'Lion Rip'
'Lassoo'
'Dog Roses'
'Step And The Walk'
'Into The Fold'
'My Sunken Treasure'
'Hello To The Floor'
'This Ship Was Built To Last'
'Red Weather'
'You Really Wake Up The Love In Me'
'Send A Little Love Token'
'Love Is An Unfamiliar Name'
'Wooden Heart'
'Neptune's Call'
'Cuts Across The Land'

Yeah, but I doubt many here have actually seen him play bass with the Stones.

Would be interesting if there was a video of that.

gosh i saw these guys a few weeks ago open for eagles of death metal (who rocked and even played the stones brown sugar) and they were a snoozefest..the only good thing they had was that the lead singer was easy on the eyes...they had no memorable songs..i know they get great press in england but they are bo-ring.

Back in '75 anyone who saw the Stones got to see Ronnie play bass with them on "Fingerprint File."

love The Duke Spirit - much underrated, Leila Moss, is a brilliant frontwoman.

Can we assume Ronnie was on the spirits, as opposed to listening to The Spirit?

Any more news on Ronnie's visit to LA?
Christmas holiday break?
Business meetings with Universal ?(I think not)

I love the journalistic phrase: ..."accompanied by an entourage" !

New Musical Express

Been around for a while, and UK based.
I would think they should know that Ronnie is not considered the Stones' usual bassist.

Bill played keyboard and you could almost hear it. Kind of.

By the way Edith, you should be able to see it on the LA 75 video from July 11 that goes under different names....

that reporter had probably been listening to Beck-Ola all night, and in that case, the error would at least be understandable...two of my all time fave albums of all time, ron's on bass.
