OT:Are You Ready For Some (American) Football?
Posted by: sweetcharmedlife ()

College football kicks off tomorrow night. NFL next Thu. Should be another wild wacky season in both. Elmo's beloved Georgia Bulldogs are pre-season #1. But will have a hard time staying there. SEC always tough. May come down to a cocktail party. USC never rebuilds, they just reload. Ohio St.is just good enough to lose in the BCS. LSU defending champs, but got hurt in graduation and don't have a QB.
In the pros. Will the Giants repeat their stunning upset in the Super Bowl? Will the Patriots get it done this year. Will the Colts bounce back? Will Tony Romo marry Jessica Simpson?......All I know is I'm not betting any farm animals this year.winking smiley

winking smileyGO NEW YORK GIANTS! I'm not that hopeful though. I don't expect them to repeat! As you can see the odds are 20-1. I thought they'd be 40-1. I bet on the Patriots! I LOVE FOOTBALL!

Yes, this matchup between the two national champs is unprecedented.

West Virginia University is poised to be a powerhouse again. As for the Green Bay Packers, I still haven't fully accepted the fact that number 4 isn't there anymore.

High school starts tonight - our school finished second in the state last year and had 7 college signees out of a Class A (smallest in Georgia) high school, including Alphonzo Dennard to Nebraska. Should be pretty good again.

Yeah, the Georgia Bulldogs are loaded, but a killer schedule. Can't see an undefeated season, but really good.

Don't care much for the pros.

Luck to all (except SEC teams and Tech).

FYI, that LSU-ASU match up of the 2 national champions has been moved to 11am EDT Saturday (tomorrow morning). The wimps are worried about playing during a hurricane. It will be on ESPN Classic.

Thanks for the info Lukester. If I'm up that early(that's a big if) I'll watch it. Should be intersesting. If ASU wins. No Div.I team will want to play them.

Take VA Tech to pound East Carolina, take Virginia and the points against USC....And Michigan St will beat Cal....OK I just said that to piss off Plexiglass.spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

Jesus this again? The game that the Giants, Pats etc. play is called footall over here. If what we call soccer is known as football in other parts of the world then what does it matter? It is still called soccer over here. Do you call a door a door in Spain or do you have a different word for it Carlitos?

As far as real/not real I would like to see Carlitos looking across the line at a two hundred and sixty pound linebacker headed for him and then we will see how real it is. The NFL is the real rugged football- for men. Boys can stick to soccer lol.

Just how did American football get to be called "football" anyway, when there was already another "football" being played?

How come they don't call it "pigskinball," or something like that?
