Just read somewhere today Aussie release date is 07.08.08? no way that can be right can it?

I ordered mine & a couple of extras for others from Amazon 30.07.08, but am now worried that these will not play on all region DVD's due to some special coding they apparently have in them?

I hope that is not the case, as I expect them to arrive this week & would be "shattered" if I stuffed up on jumping in too early. I just hope my SAL DVD's play like all others I have from USA etc..

As for the box set release date...I think I will wait until I see one in JB HI FI some time closer to Xmas? Not gonna risk ordering that one in a hurry!

I just don't understand how come they charged you 18$+ for shipping. I preordered mine to amazon.com in early June and got it on August 4th.Standard delivery,but I noticed the parcel came from New Zealand!

That logo on the discs looks like the UK classification mark, as in 12 meaning suitable for ages 12 and over.
Is it a UK release or do they use the same classification symbol in mainland Europe as well.
The picture shows 2 discs , any information on what's on them .

so, what does this box set edition have that the regular DVD does not have?

I suppose no extra music or scenes?

I am still in hope one day of a Director's Cut that WILL have additional material.

THe 2nd disk is a digital copy of the movie that you can put on an IPOD, nothing else. I did read where there will be one new song that will only be on this set, I assume that will be Shine A Light, as that and Honkey Tonk Women are the only songs left out.

in their never ending quest for the almighty dollar, no doubt they will find a way of turning this into yet another 4 dvd box set (yawn), who knows disc 2 could be a tour doco (now thats never been done before) and discs 3 & 4 could be remastered versions of discs 1 & 2

I'd probably expect that too ... if it weren't for the fact that SAL is kind of perceived to be "cinematic art" rather than just "a film of a concert", and consequently not be abused and frigged around with too much.
In fact, it is just a film of a concert.
It's a pity that the o2 shows weren't filmed for possible incorporation into some future release if you ask me.
There is,presumably, plenty of officially filmed IOW footage to do something with.

well ... that article stated that there are four bonus numbers on the "special edition",
which matches the regular edition. they probably meant Undercover not being on the CD.

Yes it said 4 bonus songs with one not being available on the regular release(dvd release) which means it's either Shine A Light or Honkey Tonk Women, they are not referencing the cd release.

well then which of the four that are on the "regular" dvd are they leaving out, if each version has four extra songs?
until further notice, what i think it means is that it was a very poorly worded press release.
