Those are too fast, make it sound like a pop song. This is how it should be played, with the right groove...a fantastic version.

It always amazes me that, when another artist is showing his respect for the Stones by playing one of their songs, the only thing he/she/they get is a big bashing from the Stones fans. Of course Meatloaf and his band can not hold a candle next to our boys. What did you expect?
But I would thank the man for bringing this homage and maybe he just turned some of those fans of his onto the Stones. In that case he added his part to carry on the good work.

The Stones are made of shade.


The main-mean mistake of these covers is due to an athletic performance of the singer - see also Street fighting man covered by Roger Daltrey.

Hey, read this board and you realize that the band that gets bashed the most is The Stones.

Mmmmmm, I think Madonna, Macca and Gazza'a Fav Bon Jovi come in for far more flack....

There are great covers from Stones songs like LSTNT by Bowie (maybe even better than original), GS by Patti Smith is well done, JJF by Johnny Winter is simply awesome but this one has no taste, that's all !

Glad to say I havent listened.

I saw him in 1982 and he played it then,which surprised me at the time.

At the time I thought it was a decent enough version - this one isn't too good, though.

yuk , i've always felt meatloaf was overrated

Can admit I liked him too, back them.
But today I see it as a cause of the decline in rock music 1981-82.

Simply a shock,could only be topped by the awful Scorpions,for example
playing Street Fighting Man !
